Pros
- 30 day money back guarantee
- $9.95 monthly fee
- Internet fax and conference call features included for free
- Unlimited Extensions
Cons
- $25.00 Activation Fee
- $15 charge to get a 800 number
Conclusion
Grasshopper's (GotVmail's) Start plan is a decent low cost option that gives you a full range of features. The Start plan has a low monthly fee but there are a few charges which might initially make it a bit more costly than other inexpensive PBX plans. You will have to pay a $25 activation fee when you sign up for the Start plan. In addition, if you want to have an 800 number then you will have to pay $15 more when you sign up for the service. You should not necessarily have to pay an activation fee, but it is fairly typical to have to pay for an 800 number. Local numbers, 866, 877, and 888 numbers should be free as it is rare that a PBX service provider will charge for these types of numbers.
Looking past the additional costs, the Start plan does provide a solid PBX service. The Start plan comes with unlimited extensions, internet fax, conference calling, message alerts, and call screening. The main strength of the Start plan by Grasshopper (GotVmail) is that it has all the features you could want at a relatively low cost.
