PBXCompare.com Launches Business VoIP Page for Businesses Wanting to Reduce Start-up Costs
PBXCompare.com, a comparison and review web site for virtual PBX systems, has just launched a new page that offers in-depth comparisons between increasingly popular business VoIP systems and traditional business phone systems.
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) May 15, 2009 — PBXCompare.com, a website that compares and reviews virtual phone services, features a new page that compares business VoIP with traditional PBX on price points, features and overall functionality. Business VoIP combines VoIP lines with a virtual pbx in order to provide low cost call management with all the functionality of a traditional phone system.
The new page on PBXCompare.com specifically features a whitepaper that posits the main differences in cost of equipment, setup and maintenance and ongoing service fees between the two types of phone systems. For the comparison, a Nortel BCM-50 traditional business phone system was pitted against RingCentral Office, a relatively new business VoIP system. When all necessary start-up fees were calculated, the Nortel BCM-50 system retailed for over $4,500. Conversely, the costs of the RingCentral Office system totaled $320. PBXCompare.com creator Gaines Kilpatrick explains the price difference thusly:
"You have to buy a lot of equipment to set up a traditional phone system and traditional phone systems are not configured for the average person, so professional installation is required. A business VoIP system eliminates the need to purchase a 'phone box' by hosting the call management online. In addition, the phones cost about one-third of what phones cost for traditional phone systems and you don't have to buy licenses for basic features like voicemail."
Other cited expenses that drive up the cost of traditional phone systems include voicemail licenses ($120 each), basic phones ($250 each), and installation fees ($110/hr), the latter expense being unnecessary for a business VoIP system.
"One of the coolest things about business VoIP is the fact that you don't have to install anything," says PBXCompare.com affiliate manager Nick Middleton. "Your business VoIP provider will send you your desk phones, which have been completely programmed and personalized for each person in your office, and all you have to do is plug them in and start using them."
The cost efficiency of business VoIP systems may be a deciding factor for start-ups looking to cut costs. Business VoIP systems would allow start-ups, especially those without a physical office or with mobile employees, to effectively and economically manage calls. As the whitepaper points out, business VoIP users can easily forward calls to mobile phones, and the online management system can be accessed from any device that has an Internet connection.
In addition to comparing business VoIP with traditional PBX, PBXCompare.com reviews dozens of virtual pbx services from providers like Phone.com, My1Voice, GotVmail, Phone People, PowrFone, Virtual PBX, Halloo and others, as well as services that offer virtual phone numbers.
