Plan Reviewed: Small Business Max

Pros

  • No Activation Fee
  • 15 extensions
  • Conference calls included in the plan
  • Cost for additional minutes is 5¢

Cons

  • Call hold is $7.95 / month
  • No message alerts
  • No dial by name directory
  • No local numbers

Conclusion
TollFreeMax's Small Business Max Plan is a well-priced plan that includes 15 extensions but lacks important features like message alerts, a dial by name directory, and especially call hold. Call hold is an essential feature for any PBX system and can be added for $7.95 per month. So, to start off, you're effectively paying $33 per month and not $25 per month. Another shortcoming of their service is that you can't purchase a local number. Their cost for transferring an existing 800 number is also relatively high at $50. Excepting these shortcomings, TollFreeMax's Small Business Max Plan is a workable PBX system.
