Plan Reviewed: Virtual Extension

Pros

  • Internet fax and conference call features available
  • Unlimited minutes

Cons

  • No free trial
  • $100 activation fee
  • $14.99/month charge for internet fax feature
  • $39.99/month charge for a 800, 866, 877 and 888 number
  • $9.99/month charge for a local number

Conclusion
Vocalocity's Virtual Extension plan charges a lot for features that are normally free with other service providers. Vocalocity charges $39.99 a month for an 800, 866, 877, or 888 number. Typically you pay a one time charge for the number or you get the number for free. Only rarely does a PBX service charge you a monthly fee for your toll free number. Vocalocity also charges you a $14.99 monthly fee if you want to have the internet fax feature. There is also a $100 activation fee for when you sign up for the service. The biggest problem Vocalocity's has is that they do not have a free trial available for any of their plans. We do not recommend Vocalocity's service, since it lacks a free trial and charges for so many features that normally come free with other PBX service providers.

Plan Reviewed: Unlimited Extension

Pros

  • Unlimited minutes
  • Unlimited extensions
  • Helpful customer service

Cons

  • $100 activation fee
  • No free trial
  • Monthly add-on service fees

Conclusion
Vocalocity's Unlimited Extension plan is their most popular plan and offers unlimited inbound and outbound calling with an unlimited number of extensions. Your total monthly price depends on what type of number you want and what add-ons you want with your service. Vocalocity charges a monthly fee to purchase a toll free or local number versus their competitors who usually charge a one time setup fee. They also charge a $14.99 monthly fee for internet fax, but your usage is unlimited. You need to be certain Vocalocity fits your needs when you sign up because they don't offer a free trial and have a $100 activation fee. If you don't need to purchase add-on services and anticipate a high volume of calls, Vocalocity's Unlimited Extension plan is a good fit.
