VoiceShot Conclusion

VoiceShot's additional fees ($10 recurring expense on your first phone number and a $50 activation fee), make their service is more expensive than our Market Standard. They do, however, meet our Market Standard in terms of price per minute. VoiceShot also does not offer a free trial to test their service. They also lack some essential PBX features, such as conference calling and Internet fax, which we consider to be standard features. While they offer unlimited extensions and smart system routing (ACD Queues) and have high quality phone and email customer support, we recommend looking at less expensive providers.

Pricing

All three of VoiceShot's reviewed pricing plans meet our Market Standard for base monthly fee and minutes provided, but VoiceShot charges an additional $10 per month for your first local or toll-free number. Therefore, we consider VoiceShot plans to be rather expensive. Additionally, VoiceShot charges a $50 activation fee upon signup, which does not meet our Market Standard. They do not offer international or vanity numbers, but you may port an existing number into their system for free. VoiceShot does not offer a free trial of their service.

Online Interface

VoiceShot provides an average quality online interface. It does not take much time to sign up for an account, but they do not offer a setup wizard to get started. Contacts can be stored and imported from CSV files. In the online interface, you may set specific handling rules, make a block call list, access call logs, set voicemail alerts or upload your own greeting. VoiceShot does not offer a mobile application to access your PBX account on a smartphone.

Call Management Features

Voiceshot allows you to set handling rules based on groups of contacts or time called, as well as forward, transfer, or put a call on hold. While on a call, you may place the caller on hold or transfer the call using just the phone's keypad. You may not use the phone's keypad to block a caller.

VoiceShot offers Follow Me call handling, which lets you set up an ordered list of extensions that will ring sequentially when you get incoming calls. You cannot record phone calls using VoiceShot or tag calls, but you can utilize call screening. VoiceShot allows you to make outbound calls using your virtual number at a rate of 12 cents per minute. You cannot make outbound calls while outside of the U.S.

PBX Features

VoiceShot stores your voicemails online, and you may choose to receive an email alert when you receive a message. But you cannot choose to have your voicemails emailed to you. You can store up to 15 messages at one time for an indefinite period of time. They do not offer the ability to transcribe voicemails to text.

VoiceShot provides unlimited extensions, which far exceeds our Market Standard of 10 extensions. However, VoiceShot does not offer conference calling or Internet fax service. VoiceShot offers both auto attendants and ACD Queues, but they do not offer dial-by-name directories.

Customer Support

VoiceShot provides high quality email and phone support. They do not offer live chat. Phone support is available every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. PST. During testing, we experienced no significant wait times.
